As part of the cultural program organized by the Sociological Association in Sharjah during the 2024 Sharjah International Book Fair, Dr. Nagwa Yousif, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, participated in moderating a seminar titled "Positive Steps to Raising Your Child," alongside Dr. Hala Al-Alablam, a board member of the Sociological Association and Director of Wesal Consulting, Family Guidance, and Social Training.
The seminar focused on providing parents with effective strategies for positive parenting, aiming to promote balanced and resilient child development while strengthening family bonds. It highlighted the importance of educational guidance, effective communication, and improving children's social, psychological, and emotional well-being. The seminar also offered valuable tools for parents to nurture positive thinking and growth in their children, contributing to more harmonious parent-child interactions.
The seminar equipped participants with valuable knowledge and practical experiences, fostering constructive attitudes that aim to develop positive parenting strategies to support children’s development. The session was attended by a diverse group of participants, including members of the Sociological Association, students enrolled in the Welfare of Special Needs course from the Department of Sociology, and parents attending the Sharjah International Book Fair.
